I’ve been intending to take this class ever since I chose UNE because I felt as though these kinds of writing skills are vital to science fields. If I intend to do research, the only way it’ll be able to be conducted is with funding. Communication and writing is crucial in the professional world no matter what your career is. Being able to do so effectively can help you out immensely. For example, my uncle is in the science field and a big part of his job is essentially proposal and grant writing. Recently he worked on a project to get a vaccine approved in Africa, which is huge. To be able to compose your writing in a way to secure funding can mean life or death in some extreme cases, perhaps like this one. I’m hoping to come out of this class with the foundation of this kind of technical writing and be able to build on it throughout my career in science and research.
